Yellow LED Light Therapy for Rosacea and Redness

Rosacea and redness can be a frustrating skin condition to deal with but that doesn’t mean you need to suck it up and deal with it. At Laser Clinics, we have a number of professional skin treatments at our clinics that can help treat Rosacea including Yellow LED Light TherapySkin Needling / Microneedling and Cosmetic-Grade Chemical Peels.

Today, we’ll focus on what Yellow LED Light Therapy can do for Rosacea and redness.

Yellow LED Light Therapy is a professional skin treatment performed by our team of highly trained skin therapists. A 13-minute treatment, LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works at a cellular level.  The soothing, deep penetrating LED lights target deep into cells heightening their internal functions, photo-stimulating dermal blood flow, and creates faster healing so your skin always looks rejuvenated.

Perfect for those experiencing Rosacea and redness, a unique characteristic of Yellow Light LED Therapy is its soothing and calming properties that are suitable for all skin types and colours.

The yellow light works to reduce Rosacea symptoms such as redness by decreasing the size of blood vessels. This way, the constricted blood vessels become less visible.

In addition to alleviating Rosacea symptoms…

Yellow LED Light Therapy is effective in minimising redness, soothing sensitive or inflamed skin, encouraging red cell production to revitalise and heal the skin, minimising damage caused by exposure to UV rays, and decreasing the appearance of visible veins on the skin.

How Do Other LED Light Therapies Compare?

There are two other types of LED Light Therapy, based on wavelength: red and blue, according to a review of light-emitting diodes and their clinical applications

Red Light Therapy

Red LEDs are potentially effective for stimulating processes in the skin which encourage healing and rejuvenation, including boosting collagen production. They may also support the growth of essential skin-repair cells, making them ideal for improving skin elasticity, reducing fine lines, and healing damaged tissue.

Blue Light Therapy

Meanwhile, Blue LEDs were found to have been effective in treating acne due to their ability to target Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for breakouts.

Blue light works by interacting with natural compounds in the bacteria, triggering a photodynamic reaction that destroys them by releasing oxygen-free radicals.

Additionally, blue light potentially helps reduce inflammation by influencing cytokine production, which can help calm acne-prone skin.

Red vs Blue vs Yellow LED Light Therapy

When understanding the mechanisms of rosacea and the effects of LED therapies, both Red and Blue LED Light Therapy may provide some benefit, but they may not be the best treatments to address rosacea completely.

Rosacea is characterised by increased inflammation and degraded collagen which leads to visible redness and irritation. Red LED therapy has been known to stimulate collagen production and repair damaged skin; it may help calm rosacea symptoms like inflammation.

Blue LED therapy, on the other hand, is the least-penetrating wavelength that targets bacteria and is known to be beneficial for active acne treatment. It may help address rosacea that comes with acne breakouts.

But, many may prefer a deeper-penetrating light wavelength like Yellow LED as it can affect the epidermis and superficial dermis, stimulating wound healing and improving skin complexion.

Two Systems, One Treatment

More good news. Yellow LED Light Therapy boosts the immune system by boosting the flow of our lymphatic system. Rosacea sufferers are prone to secondary skin infections such as acne so exposure to Yellow LED Light Therapy can help heal infections and to revitalise damaged tissue, resulting in healthy and happy skin. LED is a very safe and gentle treatment that is perfect for all skin types – including sensitive skin.
